Marvel fans excited for the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness movie can rest assured that the soundtrack is in good hands with songwriter Danny Elfman.
The sequel to Doctor Strange is highly anticipated among Marvel Cinematic Universe fans, not least because it is directed by Sam Raimi, who has already directed arguably two of Spider-Man’s best movies (Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2). ) as well as the original Evil Dead Trilogy.
This is not the first time that Raimi and Elfman have collaborated on a project. Elfman also composed the music for the aforementioned Spider-Man films. Elsewhere, Elfman provided the score for Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns. The composer is therefore no stranger to making music for superhero films.
Stranger things can happen
In an interview with Inverse, Danny Elfman referred to the music he was working on for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, saying, “I’m starting to do pre-work tracks for Doctor Strange 2 that Sam Raimi directs […] Even though I haven’t launched it for a few months, there are some pieces of recorded music that they need for the sets. “
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness therefore seems to be well placed with this promising director and songwriter combo. The plot of the film may address occurrences of other Phase 4 projects like WandaVision and the third Spider-Man movie directed by Tom Holland.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is currently slated for release on March 25, 2022.
