Filming for Season 2 of Netflix’s The Witcher is now well under way, and it looks like Geralt (Henry Cavill), Ciri (Freya Allan) and Co. will have a particularly terrifying threat to face this year, according to new leaked photos from the ‘together. .
As revealed by r / NetflixWitcher on Twitter, it looks like the frozen villains known as the Wild Hunt will be featured in some capacity during the show’s second season.
Best known as the primary antagonists of the third Witcher video game, the Wild Hunt are described as “a cavalcade of ghosts on undead horses galloping across the sky and serving as an omen of war,” according to their Wiki entry on Fandom.

While the Armored Horsemen featured in these photos are obviously more ground-based than what’s depicted above, the series’ take on the wild hunt seems to stay pretty close to the source material.
In books and play (spoiler alert) the Savage Hunt set their sights on Ciri and the power that came with her elder blood, which they hoped would allow them to invade our world.
Depending on how Netflix plans to incorporate the Wild Hunt into this season, their inclusion may offer a hint of what awaits Geralt at his conclusion – if it turns out the way we think it would make one hell of a cliffhanger leading into. the third season of the show!
While a release date for The Witcher: Season 2 has yet to be revealed, it’s likely that Netflix will bring the series back by the end of 2021.
