Lego is set to release the Lego Art World Map, a huge, fully buildable world map that, with a staggering 11,695 individual pieces, will be the largest set the company has ever produced.
The final version of the Lego Art world map measures 65cm high and 104cm wide. And if you’re worried about where on earth (no pun intended) you’ll need to carefully place each piece, don’t be. Lego appears to be avoiding the strict puzzle route for a more customizable map-building experience.
The Lego Art world map will be available on Lego’s online store and in its department stores from June 1, 2021 and will cost £ 249.99 (approx. $ 350 / AU $ 450). It will also be available worldwide on August 1, 2021, so buyers outside the UK won’t have to wait any longer.
Everything is awesome
It should be noted that the Lego Art world map is intended for customers over the age of 18, so it is definitely a project to be undertaken by more experienced builders. Maybe people looking to brighten up their living room or offices with a tactile Lego touch.
As mentioned, the Lego Art world map appears to be more than just a puzzle. The set also includes templates for three map variations, as well as a custom design option to personalize the map to your liking, for example to highlight your favorite travel destinations. Hanging items are also included, allowing builders to place the map on their wall when completed.
Strangely, but warmly, a soundtrack is included in the box as well. This soundtrack is intended for immersive purposes and features a variety of travel stories from world famous globetrotters such as Syazwani Baumgartner and Once Upon a Saga founder Torbjørn C. Pedersen.
