New Delhi. Daily figures are telling that the second wave of corona in India is now on the slopes. Talking about the last 24 hours, 42,766 cases have been reported here. During this 1206 people have died. With this, the number of active cases in the country has increased to 4,55,033 which is 1.48% of the total cases. During the last 24 hours, 45,254 patients have been cured. So far, a total of 2,99,33,538 people have been completely cured across the country. With this, the recovery rate has increased to 97.20 percent. So far 37.21 crore people across the country have been given the corona vaccine. Talking about the weekly positivity rate, it is currently 2.34%, while remaining consistently below 5 percent. The daily positivity rate has also remained less than 3 percent for 17 consecutive days. Due to the fast pace of vaccination in the country and the restrictions implemented by the states, there was a rapid decrease in corona cases in the last few weeks. But now the increase in it once again is a cause for concern. Although the number of new cases is still below the benchmark of 50,000 per day, it is important to maintain vigilance. Here, during genome sequencing in Uttar Pradesh, the ‘kappa variant’ of corona virus has been confirmed in two samples. According to a government statement on Friday chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, “Genome sequencing of 109 samples was done in KGMU (King George Medical University) in the past. In 107 samples, only the delta variant that appeared in the second wave of Kovid has been confirmed, while the kappa variant of the virus was found in two samples. Earlier this week, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday that severe variants of the corona virus were found in 174 districts of 35 states and union territories. According to the Ministry of Health, most of these cases are from Maharashtra, Delhi, Punjab, Telangana, West Bengal and Gujarat.
