New Delhi. Vaccine is the only option to prevent the deadly epidemic corona virus, in such a situation people above 18 years of age are being vaccinated in many countries. Meanwhile, there is news that Zydus Cadila’s vaccine Zycov-D will take a few more days to get approval for emergency use. Zydus Cadila has sought approval from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) for the emergency use of its corona vaccine Zykov-D. This vaccine is for people above 12 years and its Phase-3 trials have been completed.
According to a media report, the preliminary evaluation of the application submitted by Zydus Cadila is going on and it has been sent to the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) for further consideration. Soon the SEC will meet and the company’s representatives will also be asked to make a presentation. If the committee finds the figures satisfactory, then approval for emergency use of Jaykov-D can be given this week. If Zykov-D is approved, it will be the country’s fifth Kovid-19 vaccine. First, the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) approved indigenous vaccines Covaccine and Kovisil. After this, the corona vaccine of Sputnik-V and Moderna has also been approved by DCGI.
