Mumbai. Taking major action against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized immovable assets worth Rs 4.20 crore. Actually, the ED took this action during the investigation of the recovery case of 100 crores in Maharashtra. ED says that it has attached immovable properties worth Rs 4.20 crore of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and his family under PMLA in corruption case.
Earlier, Anil Deshmukh’s counsel had said that his client felt that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe against him in the alleged money laundering case was not proper and hence he was not joining the investigation. The ED had earlier issued several summons to Deshmukh asking him to record his statement. However, NCP leader Deshmukh (72) refused to appear, citing being sensitive about Kovid-19.
