New Delhi. Air Marshal Suraj Kumar Jha, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, assumed the charge of Air Officer-in-Charge, Personnel at Air Headquarters on 1 August. Air Marshal Suraj Kumar Jha was commissioned into the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force on 8 June 1984. In a career spanning 37 years, the Air Officer has flown over 2900 hours, which includes operational flying on various fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force.
Air officers have held many important positions during their career. He was the commanding officer of a front-line fighter squadron and also commanded a major fighter base. As an Air Vice Marshal, he held the coveted responsibilities of Air Officer Commanding Advance Headquarters, Commandant of the College of Air Warfare, Assistant Chief of the Integrated Defense Staff at IDS Headquarters and Joint Secretary (Air) in the newly established Department of Military Affairs under the Ministry of Defence. Was. As an Air Marshal, he was the Vice Chief of the Air Staff at Air Headquarters before assuming the current position. Air Marshal is an alumnus of Defense Services Staff College Wellington. In recognition of the service of the Air Marshal, he was awarded the Mention-in-Dispatches for the Kargil Operation in 1999 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2021.
