In a recent conversation on jersey promotion, Salman Khan revealed that Mrinal Thakur was first considered as the heroine of Sultan.

Jersey-led Shahid Kapoor and Mrinal Thakur appeared as guests on the Bigg Boss 15 reality show on Sunday, December 26th. It was then that the show’s presenter Salman Khan made a subtle revelation. The actor told Shahid Kapoor that Mrinal Thakur was first selected as the heroine in the 2016 superhit Sultan.

“Mrinal came to my farm house. Ali (Abbas Zafar, director of Sultan) brought her,” Salman told Shahid in Hindi. On hearing this, Shahid was shocked at the revelation.

The 56-year-old explained why he chose Anushka Sharma over Mrinal. “Uswaqt yeh pehlwan type nahin lagti ti (she was not like a wrestler then),” Salman explained. Supporting the actor’s opinion, Mrinal told Shahid that he had lost a lot of weight that day. “Let me tell Shahid, I lost a lot of weight at that time,” she said.

Sultan was released in 2016 with Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles. Salman Khan plays an in-and-out wrestler who finds a second chance in his career in mixed martial arts. Anushka Sharma played the heroine’s sweetheart and an international wrestler.

Mrinal Thakur, on the other hand, entered the entertainment industry through television. She was recognized by her daily soap drama Kungum Luck. The actress made her big screen debut in 2018 with the film Love Sonia. He then acted in films like Super 30 and Toofan.

The actor will next be seen in a jersey with Shahid Kapoor. Gautham Thinnanuri will hit theaters on December 31.
