Famous writer George R. R. Martin says that he watched the pilot episode of HBO’s upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragons and absolutely loved it.

Based on Martin’s book Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon is set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, which ended its eight-season run on HBO in 2019.

The show tells the story of House Targaryen and the Targaryen Civil War, also known as the Dance of the Dragons.

In a post on his official blog, Martin said he saw the rough cut of the first episode.

I’m looking forward to ‘House of the Dragon’ for its value. Well, I’m not objective. And I know a lot you are going to see. (I, um, wrote the book).

” With … Mom is the word now, don’t tell anyone … I saw a rough cut from the first episode. And liked. It’s dark, it’s strong, it’s internal … My epic fantasy is the way I like it, ” said the 73-year-old writer.

Martin praised showrunners Ryan Condell and Miguel Sapochnik for doing “amazing work” with the series.

” Ryan and Miguel did an amazing job, actors … Like Game of Thrones, most viewers have only heard of a few actors, but I think you will fall in love with many of them. . (Just to break your heart later … but no, you have to say it), ” he wrote.

House of the Dragon is presented by Paddy Considine, Emma DRC, Olivia Cook, Matt Smith, Rice Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Sonoya Misuno and Fabian Frankel. The series will make its debut on HBO in 2022.
