Acharya, one of the most anticipated films, marks the first screen appearance of father-son duo Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan, which have been postponed due to the increase in Kovid-19 cases. The film also stars Kajal Agarwal and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles.

The film, which was slated to hit the big screens on February 4, has changed its release date after the Andhra Pradesh government introduced a 50% Occupancy Act in theaters.

According to trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan Acharya, the move was postponed. News producers have not yet officially confirmed.

Commenting on his first reunion with his father Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan said, “It is a great honor for me to be able to share the same frame as my father. Also, this is not a guest role for me, but a full-length role for me.

The Tamil film is the latest release to be postponed after SS Rajamouli’s RRR and Prabhas starrer Radhe Shyam.

Producer Bonnie Kapoor, who supported Valimai, made a statement on Twitter that the film was rejected because of its emphasis on audience safety.

Just days before the producers of Radhe Shyam starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde arrive on January 14, the release has been postponed indefinitely due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation in the country. Director SS Rajamouli’s much-anticipated period action film Rise Roar Revolt (RRR) has been postponed several times in the past, but the release has been postponed by the makers amid concerns over an increase in corona virus cases in the country and a new omiciron variant.
