Actor Dulquer Salman on Monday postponed the release of his upcoming Malayalam crime thriller Salute, which was scheduled to release on January 14, due to the rising number of corona virus cases in the country.

Salman posted a note on Instagram saying that the team should take a decision considering the safety of the audience.

The actor supported Salute under the banner of Wafer Films.

“We have an obligation to show social responsibility in the face of our personal preference in waferfire movies. We, like all of you, have been looking forward to our next release with the utmost enthusiasm and anticipation. I apologize, but at such times we must prioritize health and safety, “the statement said.

Kurup has assured his fans that the film will be released “sooner”.

Directed by Roshan Andrews, the film stars Salman as a police officer and also as Diana Penty.

Salute is the latest project to postpone release after Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey, filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s RRR, Prabhas starrer Radhe Shyam and Valimai.
