Filmmaker Michael Sarnowski is in talks to direct the third part of the A Quiet Place film franchise.

Finally, Sarnoski, who recently made a decisive hit with Nicholas Cage’s Pig, will take over the director’s chair, which has been vacant since Jeff Nichols’ departure in October last year.

According to the deadline, Sarnoski will also write the screenplay for “A Quiet Place Part III”, which will be billed as a spin-off that expands the post-apocalyptic world presented at A Quiet Place in 2018.

The first film and its 2021 follow-up “A Quiet Place Part II” was written and directed by Hollywood star John Krasinski.

The films were about the Abbott family trying to save themselves in an apocalyptic world inhabited by hearing-impaired giants.

He also starred in the Krasinsky movies with his actor and wife Emily Blunt, along with teen stars Millicent Simmonds and Noah Joop.

The third project will be co-produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Foam, Brad Fuller and Krasinski, with Allison Sieger serving as executive producer.
