Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty says that there was a time when he shot multiple films at the same time but today as an artist he sets aside his craft only for the shocking parts. Chakravarthy made his film debut in 1976 with Mrinal Sen’s BeastDominated in the 80s Hindi film industry With blockbusters like Disco dancer, Dance Dance, Pyar Jukta Nahin, Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki, Commando etc. The 71-year-old actor is currently preparing for his digital debut through the bestseller series best video psychological thriller, which stars Lokesh Pramanik as Assistant Commissioner of Police.

During a virtual event to launch the show’s trailer, Emperor said he had become more focused on the projects he was starring in today.

“I’m over 370 movies now. There was a time when I did four shifts (different movies) one day, and the dialogues and scenes were almost the same, because the fans wanted to see it – the dance, the fights, the whistle – blowing dialogues. I do, otherwise I do not.

In the 90s, the actor saw the release of over 100 films and acted in several Bengali films, which continued into the 2000s and he balanced his work in both industries.

His most popular films of the last decade include Golmaal 3, Housefull 2, and OMG – Oh My God !,

Lovingly referred to as the Dancing Star in the titles of several hit action-musicals, the actor said that he could not choose his favorite genre or film because he worked sincerely on all his projects.

“I never know the people who lose, it’s a flop movie, no matter how good you do at it, so I can not even pick a name. I’ve done more than 370 movies, of which I can not watch 200 movies. But even in those 200 films, I worked sincerely and did my best, “he added.

With the support of filmmaker Siddharth Malhotra’s Alchemy Production LLP, the bestseller directed by Mukul Abhyankar also stars Shruti Haasan, Arjan Bajwa, Gauhar Khan, Satyajeet Dubey and Sonali Kulkarni.

At the event, Emperor said that he was only interested in acting under the direction of his directors and was surprised to learn that he would make his “debut” after remaining in the industry for more than 40 years.

“I’m an actor, I have to perform. I’m a director’s actor, whether it’s a movie or a digital platform. I follow what I say, whether it’s good or bad, so I do not really understand this digital platform or anything.

“When I heard it was my debut, I did not understand how I was making my debut years later! But it was exciting. The experience was awesome and awesome. I enjoyed every moment of it,” he added.

The series, co-written by Althiya Kushal and Anvita Dutt, is inspired by Ravi Subramanian’s bestseller novel.

Malhotra said he first saw it as a movie and even wrote a script to understand that the material was excellent as a series.

“It’s a psychological thriller, you can play with the characters in a series format … the writing is designed in such a way that no one can say no. The stars of the show are the writers,” he added.

The bestseller will premiere on Prime Video on February 18th.
