The Cry The franchise will return with the remaining four. Melissa Barrera, Jasmine Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding and Jenna Ortega will star in the show. SpyGlass Media and the Paramount Pictures franchise will be following a fresh start for the four characters after leaving Woodsboro. According to Variety, shooting for the film will begin early this summer. The movie will be released in theaters on March 31, 2023. The franchise, created by Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven, is joined in the fifth installment by the original cast of the revamped teens Nev Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette. The new team was formed to bring down the killer Ghostface.
Starring Ortega and Barrera, Tara and Sam Carpenter are sisters in the franchise. Barrera has an affair with Billy Loomis – who introduced Skeet in the first part of the franchise – revealing that she is Billy’s biological daughter.
Randy Meeks, Jamie Kennedy’s original scream character, has two nieces – Chad, Mindy Meeks, and twins – played by Gooding and Brown.
The upcoming film is the next installment in the Horror franchise segment. The first four films, directed by the late Wes Craven, “Maestro of Horror”, grossed $ 600 million worldwide, and Scream (2022) grossed $ 140 million after its January premiere, Variety reported.
Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillette are back on camera, and the new film, co-written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Bussey, will reunite the film-making crew behind the Fifth Scream.
The sixth part was produced by Project Exercise Entertainment’s Vanderbilt, Paul Nainstein and William Sherak. THR reports that executive producers Williamson and Chad Villella, a third member of Radio Silence, are Gary Barber of Spyglass, Peter Oylattagore, Ron Lynch, Cathy Conrad and Marianne Maddalena.
